Field trips!
We had a great field trip to the Red Wagon and Family Cow farm! We have onions and assorted greens growing in our classroom. We also loved the Chinese acrobats and Zen Gardens!

Edible Moon Phases
We wrapped up our unit on the night sky and as you can see, enjoyed eating our way through the phases of the moon! Please have your child return his/her moon tracking sheet at the end of the month. Thanks for your help with tracking the moon at home.

November 13th
We have wrapped up our unit on ants. I hope to share your child's non-fiction ant book as well as their ant story problem that they created during conferences. We are working on our photo story about the town of Hinesburg. We have had many guest speakers that told us some great stories of how Hinesburg was long ago! I hope to post this on our blog once it is completed. We will be watching a pod cast live from the Plimoth Plantation on Wednesday to see what pilgrim life was like long ago!

Ants!
We are beginning our Math unit called All About Ants! We have an ant farm that we are amazed by. They sure are busy little creatures and they remind us of our class because they all help each other and work together to get things done!

Our First Monarch Butterfly
Finally, after patiently waiting and checking every day, we have a butterfly! We went out on Monday morning to set him free but he really didn't want to leave us as you can see in the pictures!

Making Salsa!
In case you haven't heard, on Thursday we made salsa with the tomatoes from our garden! On Friday we had a tasting party with Mrs. O'Brien's class. They made a delicious Cole slaw with the cabbage and carrots from the garden. Yes, they really ate all those vegetables and it was very fun making the salsa. Our class liked the tasting part the best!
